Women's Transitional Program
Dawn Farm’s Women’s Transitional Program provides a long term solution to the effect of addiction
on mothers, infants and children.
Housed within the Dawn Farm residence, mothers that go through the WTP program learn
“survival skills” that ensure that they can provide not only for themselves but for the children who
depend on them. Dawn Farm uses all of its resources—and the generous help of other community organizations—to teach our moms good parenting, good nutrition and other skills. We work closely
with St. Joe’s OB/GYN Infant/Maternal Support Services, Safe House and any other agencies to
assure smooth case management.
We help addicted women to have safe and healthy pregnancies by achieving sobriety and
building relationships with the local recovering community.
To address the special needs of this population, we provide a continuum of care through:
• Prenatal care and education
• Transportation
• Parenting skills
• After care planning
• Transitional Housing apartments
• Public Health Services
Our goal is to help women develop basic skills necessary to maintain a drug-free, healthy
lifestyle. We educate mothers in childhood growth and development, nutritional needs, STD’s, Fetal
Alcohol Syndrome, maternal bonding, abuse and neglect.
The Women’s Transitional Program offers a comprehensive array of supports for pregnant addicts
and alcoholics and custodial mothers with newborns.
