Recurring Events for Family and Loved Ones

Below is a brief description of some of our programming for families. Current dates and times are available here.

Family Orientation Program

A  a brief overview of Dawn Farm, what is addiction, the effects of addiction on the family, how to support the recovery of your loved one and how to take care of yourself.

Family Matters

Participating in Dawn Farm’s Family Matters group can make a powerful contribution to the process of recovery and of rebuilding relationships. You will learn that you can’t control addiction, you didn’t cause addiction, and you can’t cure addiction. By becoming aware of the beliefs and experiences that shape your own behaviors, you will identify new, healthy ways of coping with addiction-related issues and concerns. You can take part in Dawn Farm’s Family Matters group even if your loved one is not currently in treatment.

Dawn Farm Education Series

What is it? The Dawn Farm Education Series is a FREE, annual workshop series developed to provide accurate, helpful, hopeful, practical, current information about chemical dependency, recovery, family recovery and related issues, and dispel the myths, misinformation, secrecy, shame and stigma that prevent people from getting help and getting well.

All programs are free and open to anyone interested. Addicts, alcoholics, people in recovery, people interested in recovery, family members/friends and others affected by chemical dependency, people who work with chemically dependent individuals, students, anyone interested in any topic for any reason – ALL ARE WELCOME!

The Education Series will be held annually from September through June. Programs take place at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Education Center. (Please click here for the Education Series schedule.)
