Dawn Farm’s Anniversary Jamboree is a celebration of 43 years in operation. It’s our annual birthday party- and you’re invited! Originally called our “Founder’s Day,” this event welcomes the community to join us for auctions, kids’ events, live music, great food and more! We welcome the whole family to explore the farm, enjoy fellowship, and to celebrate recovery. Don’t miss it!
The Jamboree is the ultimate family event—and it’s FREE. All are welcome to join and spend the day celebrating without spending a dollar (or at most- drop a few bucks on some of our really great food offerings.) You can also listen to great music, tour the Farm, go on a hayride or hang out with friends. Do you want to spend some money in support of the Farm? We have a silent auction as well as a live auction with hundreds of terrific items. Please join us on September 11th to join us in gratitude for the lasting work of Dawn Farm!
This year’s celebration has two special ceremonies. First, we will be honoring Mary Jo Easthope Desprez with our Fellow Traveler award. The Fellow Traveler is a rarely given award that honors someone who is not a recovering addict or alcoholic who has developed a partnership with the recovering community. Mary Jo has helped provide substance abuse education and support to young people for nearly 30 years—and her love for recovering college students has made her a pioneer in the founding of a national collegiate recovery movement.
Next, we will be thanking Lucky’s Market, who generously donated $10,000 so the Cooperative at Dawn Farm could build hoophouses as part of their initiative to be good stewards of our land. The Cooperative at Dawn Farm is a group of dynamic farmers and permaculture advocates. These folks have worked with us to expand our gardens and become more creative as farmers. Join the Cooperative and all of us at Dawn Farm as we thank Lucky’s for their contribution.
Brillig is pioneering a fresh new idea in nightlife:
a pop-up bar that’s a place to share good times,
small plates and hand-crafted, seasonal and inspired
cocktails— without the alcohol.
Nic Sims developed Brillig to give back to a recovery
community that continues to deeply support her, her
family, and friends. Brillig is a labor of love and a family business.
