Dawn Farm Education Series

What is it? The Dawn Farm Education Series is a FREE, annual workshop series developed to provide accurate, helpful, hopeful, practical, current information about chemical dependency, recovery, family recovery and related issues, and dispel the myths, misinformation, secrecy, shame and stigma that prevent people from getting help and getting well.

All programs are free and open to anyone interested. Addicts, alcoholics, people in recovery, people interested in recovery, family members/friends and others affected by chemical dependency, people who work with chemically dependent individuals, students, anyone interested in any topic for any reason – ALL ARE WELCOME

The Education Series is held from October through June or July each year. Workshops take place at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Education Center. (Please click here for the Education Series schedule.)

Each year's Education Series will have exciting NEW workshops and presenters, as well as revisiting previous favorites. We hope you'll join us! Please click here for the Education Series page with details.

Teens Using Drugs: What To Know and What To Do

The Dawn Farm Education series is coordinated to occur on opposite Tuesdays from "Teens Using Drugs: What To Know and What To Do", a FREE, ongoing, two-part workshop series presented by our friend Ron Harrison, and co-sponsored by Dawn Farm, the Livingston/Washtenaw Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Consortium, and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System Mission Services. Click here for information about the "Teens Using Drugs" series.

BRENT LEGAULT ANNUAL MEMORIAL EVENT

Brent Legault Annual Memorial Event: August 7, 2010 (first Saturday in August every year.) This popular local event commemorates Brent Legault, who died December 4, 2005. A "Family Walk" is planned for 2010. Details of the event and about Brent’s World, a book written by Brent’s mother Barb Smith, are available from http://compassionhearts.com/. All proceeds from the event and the book are donated to Dawn Farm to help others recover from chemical dependency.
